Nelson Emerson celebrated with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of Waterford, Ontario, on Tuesday, having watched his hard work pay off with a second championship in three seasons.

Emerson has been part of the Los Angeles Kings player development department for six seasons, helping select and nurture many of the young players who have contributed to the success.

"I get to follow [them] from 18 when they’re drafted and watch them grow, to watch them follow their dream and get the Cup," the 46-year-old told the Simcoe Reformer. "You feel part of it.”
