I’m conflicted. I think both Vancouver and Edmonton are bad matchups for us. I know we’ve had more success against the Canucks recently but the Playoffs wash the slate clean.
Just looking at the rosters Vancouver is a bit deeper at Forward, Defense and Demko is better than Skinner. Edmonton has McDavid and Draisaitl so I’d give them the slight edge but both matchups are going to suck to the Kings.
My preference is just getting the Oilers matchup out of the way as soon as possible. Let the chips fall where they may.
I couldn't agree more. I hate the idea of investing in guaranteed losses almost as much as I hate missing a playoff game.
More than anything I want St. Louis to knock Vegas out of the playoffs. Just because they're cheaters and I loathe Mark Stone.

Plus it would be nice to have them join the Kings in the club of "Winning the Cup one year.. missing the playoffs completely the following year".

Someone else would have to pretend to be injured though if they wanted to put Stone in the lineup for the last few remaining regular season games though right?

Both fan bases seem to be of the opinion that whoever wins Sat wins the division. Can't bring myself to cheer for th Oil but to get the Nucks in rd. 1, It'd be at least different to potentially be in someone's head rather than the other way 'round. But of course it'd be our luck for the Oil to win and we get WC1 and still end up with them - d'oh!

This can be a little misleading. The Canucks played the Oilers 3 times early in the season when the Oilers were absolute garbage. This last game I think McJesus was still out. So, folks take this "Season Sweep" with a grain of salt.

Thought COL’s lead was safe up 3-0 against VGK. It was not. This after losing 7-0 to WPG the night before. I want to play them!
Kings likely have to win out now to hold onto 3rd. Still would rather see the Oil than DAL. Dropping to WC most likely means WC2. Unless Vegas wins out, Kings go 1-0-1, and NSH loses in regulation to PITT in their final remaining game, WC1 isn’t happening. Way too specific there.

Vegas has Chicago and Anaheim left on their schedule.
Turns out the final week of the season is still incredibly important for the Kings. I hope the players feel the same way. A 1st round matchup with Dallas is like missing the playoffs all together with extra steps.
I think there’s enough ill will between Minnesota and this Kings team that effort won’t be an issue. I am a bit concerned about Thurs. game vs. Chicago. Hopefully Vegas will do us a favor and lose to Chicago tomorrow…
