    Ok. I'll bite.

Revenant:saw it at ScreamfestLa in 2009(?) but it finally got the release this year. Dvd only, heavy rotation currently on CINEMAX. Faulty(first time film maker) yet full of genius ideas and really something raw and special
The Possession: Jewish take on the Exorcist, lots of tropes...yet excels in character development and great acting. Man crush on Jeffrey Dean Morgan aside, this is solid across the board.
Cabin in the Woods: Needed more Mermen, but just one of the best horror flicks I have seen...ever.
The Woman in Black: Lovely re-introduction to the HAMMER FILMS brand. Old school atmosphere with a great performance by 'arry Potter. Deserved a better fate but it is far too old fashioned to connect with the young crowd who went to see Radcliffe. I wish him well in shaking the Potter mantle. I think he is a very solid young actor.
Detention: As divisive as it is fun. Breakfast Club meets Donnie Darko with ADD. You will know if you liked it or not if you can endure it. Not for everyone.
The Hole:HAVE NOT SEEN IT YET...but the simple fact that Joseph Dante is making movies again is enough to warrant a mention.
The Devil Inside: yeah...I liked it. Despite the 'is a reel missing' ending it worked for this lapsed Catholic boy.
The Collection: Nice follow up to the dirty dirty Collector. Different type of movie, so it was satisfying...and they did not over explain the mythology behind a nice creation. Solid performances, decent grue...and a nice story.
The Theater Bizarre: Really good always, some better than others...but solid throughout. Some real creepy moments and good ideas.

Sadly my list of WORST movies far outweighs the highlights. I won't go into them here...(V/H/S)...but I hope this helps. I did not see a few...Excision, Yam Laranas The Road, Rec 3 and others that may be worth viewing, so...apologies.

BTW...where is Sinister you ask? well, had some great 'I could use a shower' moments...the 8mm films and especially the lawn mower(if you saw know). But the WriterWithAHistoryDescendingIntoMadness gig has been done to death(see Secret Window/The Dark Half/countless others). Extra points for the dark ending...but something just wasn't right. Now that I reflect on it, I wonder if maybe I need to rewatch...for a mass appeal flick it WAS pretty dark. Hurm. I guess it merits a watch just so you can judge for yourself. I initially thought it was a little cliche' but upon reflection I wonder if I was just being harsh.

I've been telling people not to watch V/H/S, but no one listens to me. :P

Maybe, we'll get a better sequel named, BETA M/A/X?

There is going to be a sequel. Different directors. I will have an open mind...but man, V/H/S(I watched yesterday) was worst movie of 2012 AND 2013.

Texas Chainsaw 3D (2012) | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central

TC3D is full of this kind of horror movie stupidity, where the characters are required by law to be as brain-dead as humanly possible in order to stay in danger. I realize the victims in Hooper’s classic weren’t exactly deep characters, but there was a rawness to them that made you fear for their lives. Here everything is chock-full of superficial Hollywood bull**** with chiseled WB teens and a bad hip-hop soundtrack in one of those mindless studio attempts to make Chainsaw appeal to the younger (i.e., dumbed down) generation.

The film is miscast from top to bottom, especially with regard to its antagonist, Leatherface (Yeager), now a balding, average-statured redneck who isn’t physically imposing in the slightest. While it's not the case, it feels as if the filmmakers went down to the local dive bar, grabbed whatever random guy they could find and slapped a bad mask on him. Despite having KNB on makeup F/X duties, there’s nothing about his appearance or persona that distinguishes this version of Leatherface from the low-level imitations seen at your local haunted attraction every Halloween.

The Human Centipede 3 to Start Shooting This May | Shock Till You Drop

The Human Centipede 3. What? You haven't forgotten about this one yet, have you? That's right, Tom Six is returning to the gross-out series to deliver one (final?) chapter. And he's doing it with Dieter Laser after all.

You might recall, the two had a legal dispute over the sequel last March. But EW assures the series' fans that all is right between Six and Laser now and shooting is expected to begin this May. Laser, however, is not reprising his role from the first film.

The site reports Laser and Laurence Harvey, of The Human Centipede 2, are playing all-new villains in a "storyline no one will expect."

The centipede this time will contain 500 people and the film itself will feature a "big American celebrity."

Worth seeing just for the remarkable Dieter Laser...I guarantee it.

Anyone here seen You're Next? It finally gets a wide release later this year, and I hear good things. Also hear good things about The Conjuring.
