BD Horror News - TV: ABC Talks Canceling 'The River,' Transitioning To Netflix

Ok, overall I liked the River. Didn't love it. But I would like to see more. I think the guy in this article makes a good point about the commercials killing suspense on this show. Netflix is talking to everyone about everything though so I am going to assume that this show won't get a season 2. If they do, i'll watch.

    Default some thoughts.

AWAKE: I like it a lot. Love the transition of color/temperature between the 2 therapists, the solid writing with the shifting cases and good work from the cast. The only problem I have is the son's angst is getting a little tired and grindy.

ALCATRAZ: Season and possibly series finale' this Monday. Look, it's not a great show. Potential...mostly wasted. Can be fixed, but I don't think it will get the chance. Jorge Garcia is lovable and the lead has grown on me...Sam Elliot I would watch in anything. I will watch if they get another go but, like a lot of stuff, I am ready to let it die.

2 hr. (likely series) finale' of Alcatraz tonight. As I have said previous, more potential than results but I still wouldn't mind them having a chance to retool this and have a stronger second season. With Terra Nova axed, there's a chance...but it's not even 50/50 at this point as far as I can tell.

Yeah...all except for last night's finale'. It's not terrible, just underwhelming and underperforming. There's a great story in there and the '63' of the week is capable of being so much better. All but cancelled so it's water under the bridge at this point.

If they didn't burn-off Alcatraz eps so fast, it might've done better this past Monday. I know I taped 4 different shows Monday and only watched the 2nd hour yesterday.

It was a decent 2 hours, but the reveals would need a payoff in Season 2 (which I hope somehow gets greenlit).
