I thought they already adapted it as a movie, toned down the violence, and called it The Hunger Games.

Probably the case was that they tried to buy the rights to Hunger Games as a show...since the movies are still playing out they got a hard turnback...so they just went above their heads to the 'inspiration' for HG instead.

When I see a commercial come on the television for the upcoming NBC show about the animal hospital, I feel so depressed that I live in a world where something as inane as that can be broadcast across the nation. I proudly watched and thoroughly enjoyed all three seasons of Tool Academy, by the way.
