Went there once, never again. Not my type of market I guess... especially not the price they charge there.

I like the price gouging; it keeps the riff-raff out.

It's a little thing, but Whole Foods has a selection of spice mixes that are just outstanding. It's Bill Baron's Savory Secrets, usually found in the meat department. They are in a typical spice container with a green top. From Kansas City BBQ rub, to a Fajita Rub, to a bunch of other specialty rubs, I've tried them all and they are all good.

It's ok, I don't go very often because I rather go to boutique places for specific items (meat/fish/cheese/breads) or I get them from my neighborhood farmer's market which is pretty decent in selection where I usually get my veggies, eggs and fruit.
I go to the ethnic markets for their goods (japanese/chinese/italian/russian) and I get my standard household stuff from Ralphs.

I go to WH more for a quick meal than for groceries since there isn't really anything I've found they carry that I "need" to get. I more often go to Trader Joe's than WH.

I've never been to one but will check it out if I ever run across one. I did just finish reading a great book by the CEO of Whole Foods.

We went by today and bought random fresh fruit, yogurt, spaghetti fixin's etc. Also got some fresh soup from the deli part where the food looked great. Just ate the chicken noodle soup and it was fantastic. We got quite a few items and still kept it under $100. The most interesting things are these Jurrasic Tangerines that are gigantic. If you look for the sales, it doesn't hit as hard. The meats and fish looked incredible but we passed for now. The porterhouse steaks were GIGANTIC! I really enjoyed the experience, and loved the selection of off-brand healthy items.

Whole Foods is awesome, you just need to be mindful of what you spend. The pre-made food sections, yes sections @ the El Segundo Super Store, yes Super Store, are outstanding!
