I'm also a bit dismayed at the reaction. US fans (and pundits) seem to be saying "he really added something to the rivalry" and "well that's usa/mexico". I even read about "the maturity of Miazga".

Gregg Berhalter Named Head Coach of U.S. Men's National Team

Late to add this to the thread, but I thought it should be here anyway.

I know this is sorta old news, but out of the entire world, the USMNT selected Berhalter?!?!?!

Doesn't exactly make me excited about the USMNT.

3-0 over Panama, not a bad showing. Good start for Berhalter. Long way to go.

I forgot the game was on! Highlights looked like three pretty solid goals. I think they play again Saturday right?

    Yup....vs Costa Rica.

At least this match will be in a more suited stadium (Quakes home digs)

Having the game in the gigantic Cardinals digs in AZ was just plain dumb. Place looked like a ghost town. Atmosphere was poor.
With all the soccer specific stadiums now in the USA, I don't understand why they don't play all the games in those stadiums.

I had a funny conversation with my 4 year old today as we prepare to watch Tottenham then the US game tomorrow, the difference between cities and countries and where teams are located.

As far as he knows we're cheering for a team that's in London, a 2 hour boat ride from the valley, and then for the guys who wear the american flag.

    Good enough for now.

Hope for a good showing tomorrow.

    Zardes with the "lucky" goal.

Not the best performance as a team, however Ecuador essentially parked the bus for the entire game and it was tough to go at it, but at least they came through.
