the Kings rarely send people down the the ECHL?
would make sense for them to want to get some additional talent?

That's what I was just telling my co-worker. I know they talked to the Kings a year or two ago about getting another affiliate but nothing ever happened with it.

Jets to Give Reign a Lift for 2013-14
Winnipeg Jets named secondary affiliate to Ontario
ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced a new affiliation with the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets and AHL’s St. John’s IceCaps for the 2013-14 season.
“We’re very excited about adding the Winnipeg Jets organization as a Reign affiliate and believe it will help to further solidify us as a top contender for the Kelly Cup,” said Reign president, Justin Kemp.
As part of Ontario’s affiliation agreement, the Reign will have the opportunity to send and receive players through the Jets system.
“They carry a deep roster of young talent that will be given a great opportunity to develop in a competitive and professional environment here in Ontario,” Kemp said.
The Jets are entering their third season in the NHL since being relocated in 2011 from Atlanta where they were the Atlanta Thrashers for 12 seasons. Winnipeg is in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference and play at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The St. John’s IceCaps are the Jets’ AHL affiliate, located in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
“We are pleased to embark on our new partnership with the Ontario Reign,” said Craig Heisinger, Senior Vice President & Director of Hockey Operations/Assistant General Manager of the Winnipeg Jets.
“Ontario is an organization that shares our level of commitment to success and we look forward to working together to provide our players opportunities to further develop themselves on and off the ice,” Heisinger said.
The Los Angeles Kings will remain the Reign’s primary affiliate; the Jets will be Ontario’s secondary affiliate with this new partnership.

Makes sense since Chris Carrozzi played damn near the whole season with the Reign.

The Kings were against it and said they would send us more players, that didnt happen. So you get what we got here. Both teams will send talent and the Reign will Reign

Not unheard of....especially at the ECHL level. I remember in the Dark days of our franchise when we were sending our prospects to an AHL team that was owned and operated by Phoenix. Yeah-we had our prospects playing on the AHL team of a division rival. good times.
