I was wondering if this was something they were considering long-term, but it sounds like it was a temporary move due to having so many d-men in camp:
“Nick (Deslauriers) played really well,” said Monarchs Head Coach Mark Morris. “He embraced the idea of going up and playing some left wing. The guys that came to our camp were mainly defensemen so we needed somebody to go up and he was really excited about it and obviously he bought in. We might have found us a power forward that can score us a few goals.”
Yeah, it probably won't happen again, but who knows. As a Kings fan, I tend to forget that sometimes a position change can actually work.
Even as a Dodgers fan...it sometimes worked out for the better... Take a few years back...when they converted a shortstop named Jose Offbyamile to the outfield...and the beer...hot dog and peanut vendors were much safer during the games...
