Total Wine does not price gouge like a lot of smaller retailers do. Price depends on the bottle you want. 10 year is $40-50, 13 year rye $75, 12 yr $75/80, 15 yr (my favorite) $120, 20 yr $160ish, and 23 yr $225. I think those were the prices last year.
After reading online that the release had started, I called Total Wine in HB about a week ago. They said they're looking for "roughly" Nov. 1, but since this date is loose I'll be bugging them almost daily until then. Then I have to hope my bruddah who made the run last time is off that day--or at least able to swing by before the shelves are empty. Kingsfan32, I'm definitely down with sharing info and appreciate yours if you get some.
Happened to stop by Bevmo in Orange the other day. They are expecting some Pappy shipments but they are not releasing them to the store. They are not sure when it will happen, but once they get their shipment, they will post it on their online website for sale and it will be first come, first serve. They will then ship it to your store of choice for pick-up. They said the same thing as Total Wine though: probably not until closer to late October/Early November.
Just heard Total Wine in Huntington Beach may get their shipment tomorrow (Tues 10/29) or later this week. I will keep everyone posted if I hear anything else.
Thanks.... I called and spoke with them yesterday as well. Also seems the allocations are very light, so the pickins will be slim and go quick. The buddy that helped me last time will likely not be available so I may be SOL but will sure as hell try any means available.
