D700??? Sounds like a perfect compliment to my D300 and available in July? Interesting, especially if it has the same low noise as the D3.

They asked for another photo for the calendar today:

_GCC0079 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

For them to use this one, I've got to get permission from Captain Jim. Not sure if that will happen or not, but if it does it means double cha-ching for me!

EDIT: Got permission this morning 7/8/08! CHA CHING!!!

So for all you camera nutso prospect camp veterans, I know camp is "camera friendly", but how friendly is camera friendly? I was thinking about renting the 300mm f/2.8 for Fri-Sun, is this behemoth going to be causing problems if I bring it?

Alright, then I guess I'll go ahead and make an ass out of myself with that lens then!

    Wear your "I don't answer questions!!" t-shirt!

(sorry...accidentally hit the EDIT button instead of the QUOTE button in your post above.)

I've never had a problem shooting at TSC, but I've never used anything bigger than 70-200. Sometimes with the camps there are a lot of people trying to get pictures so might have to fight for a good spot along the glass. When I shoot my son's games I shoot from a spot just above the glass. Right after you go up the stairs to the bleachers, there is a gap in the netting you can fit a lens through. They might not let people do that during the camp though.

Make sure you post some of you pics when you get em!

Sparklers on the way back down the hill:

    --EDIT--
OK, better, but I do wish Lightroom used bicubic sharper when reducing photos, in the originals you can see all the individual panels at the top of the US Bank building, and here it just looks mushy.

Went over to the convention center this morning to check out Anime Expo. It's a great place for colorful portraiture! Lots of costumes and stuff. Other than that, it was geek central!

    (I wanna see ketel&tonic dressed like this ^^ )

    Rest here.
