Hard to know exactly when a movie counts as 2014 or not. I read one of the lists above and they included multiple movies released in late 2013 so I don't know. And a movie might be 2013 in North America and not hit Europe until 2014. The Wolf of Wall Street would probably be #1 and Snowpiercer would be in there somewhere, but I kept it simple and checked my IMDB rating history and if the movie wasn't labeled as a 2014 release I didn't include it.

    My top movies of 2014:

    1. Edge of Tomorrow
    2. Interstellar
    3. The Grand Budapest Hotel
    4. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
    5. Guardians of the Galaxy
    6. 22 Jump Street
    7. Predestination
    8. Captain America 2
    9. Godzilla

Couldn't find a 10th that I thought was more than average, so I'll leave it at 9. I don't think I watched a whole lot of movies released in 2014. Certainly no hidden gems. Or maybe I watched a bunch and simply didn't rate them on IMDB, with my rotten brain I unfortunately stand no chance of remembering them on my own
