I might have to replace the downstairs air-conditioner and the upstairs air-conditioner as well as they are also 13 years old. With that said, I would have to spend another $35,000 on top of the $15,000 if I used this guy. This can't be right? If anyone has any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate them.
Dude, I'm in a whole other universe when it comes to hvac stuff. I had 2 Carrier ,Seer 16, 2.5 ton AC/HP and 2 Air Handlers replaced for just shy of $8k. The contractor that did the work is one of my subs.

Being im in Virginia, I am no help to you. Sorry.

Although, if it's one room you need to condition, I'd go with a mini split.

Yeah, sorry I couldnt be more of a help. With the prices you quoted, I assume you're in Ca? Sounds like you got a Union quote.

The setup I had installed would have cost me around $12k if I didnt know the contractor, personally. He pretty much did it at cost.

But like I said, if the room is between 300 and 400 sf (average garage size), a decent mini split w/hp would be perfect.

Well, that sure changed. I broke my Samsung (somehow a PS4 controller destroyed the screen) and got a Vizio.

I agree. The Samsung 55" curve 4k smart TV is the bomb. I now have two of them. Only don't but it at Best Buy. They screwed me royally several years ago, and wouldn't admit it. Their salesman told me I had to have this certain connector cord, which I found out after unboxing the 2 TV's that it didn't have the input connector on the TV. Since I had opened both (my son did it) they wouldn't take them back

Get something out of the Vizio M series line... If you lose that remote...consider applying for a job as an NHL referee...
