Well, I've done a little research and for all I do on this thing, I believe I'll just stay with windows 7 on this machine. I don't game, watch tv and such on it. I mostly use it for email, checking out Reality Hip Check, various news sites and run a couple exell spread sheets for the ranch. When the wheel fall of of this machine, yes, I back up regularly, I"ll order a new machine and it will come with what ever windows version Gates is shoving down our throats.

Thanks for the input to you folks that didn't recommend I get a MAC.

I updated my Win7 to 10 a couple of days ago.Scheduled the install and when I came back it was all done. Very simple. So far so good. All my drivers seem to be working fine. I am able to print and listen to music. Not sure if the Acrobat reader works because now my pdf's open in IE, no biggie. I'm still trying out things but I'm going to stick with it for a while. It also lets you try Office 365 for a month. I think I'm going to try that next.

I have upgraded and I like it. I have one bug but it is not a deal breaker. The volume scroll wheel on the keyboard makes the screen blink with a beep. I hope Microsoft or Logitech comes out with a patch soon. Windows 10 now allows data collection be sent to Microsoft similar to Google and Apple so if you believe in black helicopters, it may not be right for you.

This video outlines some of Windows 10 new features.

Good to know. I read an article a couple weeks ago stating we'd have to pay $119 after a year to keep 10. Glad to see that was incorrect.

I am a Mac guy through and through but I will say that the one PC I have in the house is running Windows 7 very reliably and I have no intention of messing with it.

    I'm going back.

It should be noted, though, that Apple gives it's new operating systems for free, unlike MS.

So does Linux... I'm now working with Mint 18...and dumped the snail-like Zorin 9...after I found the snags I missed in the last Mint OS when installing it to the computer... It was a more complex installation than I was used to...but it was worth the few extra steps it took to finally get it to stick...
