Was waiting for Smythe to do the honors but...

Anyway, its the booking season for early/mid 2016. Who has their eyes on what?

This Friday I will be buying 2 tix for The Cure's newly expanded NA 2016 tour. This will be Cure show #10 for me. Last I saw them was at The Spectrum in Philly, during 1992's "Wish" tour. Super stoked that it will be in an intimate 5000 seat Pavilion and not a 40,000 seat nightmare.

    See you in Maryland Bobby!

Welp, second date announced. Onsale tomorrow at 10am. Go get em!

2016 line up for me so far...

    Tool, January 9th, Viejas Arena
    DeVotchKa, January 16th, El Rey
Godspeed You! Black Emperor, February 5th, Warner Grand Theater
David Gilmour, March 24th, Hollywood Bowl
    Coachella, April 15th - 17th, Polo Fields
The Cure, May 22nd, May 24th, Hollywood Bowl
The Who, May 25th, Staples Center
Black Sabbath, September 19th, Hollywood Bowl

Plenty more to come for 2016, of course. I'll be in for Tool on January 10th for sure. And still have Public Image Ltd and two Puscifer dates to close out this year.

Damn bro, I'm jelly. That's a killer list.

I did however get 2nd row, center for The Cure. Super stoked. Can't wait to see the first few set lists when they start the NA tour.

I know it's still 2015, but I saw Jon Hopkins and Bonobo last night. Hopkins is still a top level sound designer, but his newer stuff is getting very EDM-y. Bonobo was smooth and groovy. But I'm definitely most excited to see Four Tet in a few weeks!

No luck with #2 for me, either.

Planning to buy GYBE tickets once I find out my travel schedule for work.

Already got tickets for Clint Mansell at the Ace Hotel in March.

Both Tool onsales were ridiculous. The band needs to adopt a system that forces at least some tickets to be kept at will-call and cc swiped from the original purchaser to pick up. Also, the mass popularity of Tool continues to defy logic. 10 years, no new music, no special press or marketing... and bam- 10 tour dates in arenas sold out within about 10 minutes of onsale. Crazy.

I considered that Mansell show but initially was thinking he would be playing some of his scores from films he's done. It's not that type of set though, right?

See you at GY!BE! I haven't gotten one for Thursday gig yet but have front row at the San Pedro show.

Right? Lot of disappointed people on Facebook.

If it's anything like his previous shows, it will be nothing but score music. With full string quartet and various other musicians. The last time I saw him, Chris Vrenna was drumming, which was cool.

    Nice!
