In what universe do the Columbus Blue Jackets win 16 straight?
Tortarella has sold his soul to the Devil for sure.

The oldest living NHL player, Boston Bruin Milt Schmidt died at age 98. Won 2 Cups (39,41) as a player, and 2 more (70,72) as the GM. Also coached the team during their dark years before Orr and Esposito. Was also the last player to have played in the 30s. RIP to the center of the Kraut Line.
As per various sites and Twitter, the world's "Best DJ" Matt Nieto has been claimed on waivers by the Avs.
Laine got destroyed by a center ice hit today in Buffalo.

Definitely a clean hit but at the same time... is it just me or do the Kings (and most Western conference teams) not do this? I'm not saying I want our guys to take runs at people or anything but it feels like we're the only team that kind of lets up and tend to protect other players. Meanwhile, most of these crazy are coming typically from East Coast teams.

LGK is the only place for real die-hard fans. If you're not here, you're not a die-hard. That's how I see it!

I know what you mean. Its as if that part of the Kings DNA from the cup years is completely missing.
About this hit though, really, you won't see it very often because McCabe doesn't even really do anything except get in position. Laine did all the work himself.
One thing that did piss me off though was Scheifle punching McCabe while he was pinned down. I understand you have to go after a player that downs your star even if its a clean hit, but I will never find it acceptable to punch a player in the head who is pinned to the ice. I think that action calls for an automatic phone call from DPS. Not necessarily any specific punishment but they need to start letting them know that it all stops once the player hits the ice.
