This team would be an absolute disaster if we lost Carter, so I say even though he would fetch the biggest return what's the point of a return if we already have a good score at a reasonable cap hit.

You can get rid of anybody on the defense and TT but we must retain Pearson and Kempe. Jake Muzzin seriously regressed this year and I would trade him if we can get some decent pieces back.

McNabb, brown or Gaborik can take a hike to Las Vegas. LaDue is far too green, small and weak to be a starter in the NHL this point.

It would be nice to retain forbert, gravel is decent. Green obviously will be forced to retire which is nice hopefully we can see him back on the bench or in some other capacity on the Kings.

The rest of the scrubs are interchangeable plugs that can be replaced at any time, no loss IMO.

Although Lewis has heart-- he has hands like feet and can be replaced with a smaller cap friendly hit for his meager offensive contributions.

I agree with the Kopitar situation, give him one more year of being a passenger, then go the SJ way, with multiple A assistant captains until someone grabs the horse by the reins.

Why one more year? He has got his money, term and nmc. He doesn't get a longer leash.

for the next nine seasons, it's his job to prove to himself all over again and doing so with or without the C

Only seven more years. Don't make it worse than it is!

At the time of 2006 Kings rebuild:

    No #1 Center
    No #2 Center
    No #1 Dman
    No #1 Goaltender
    No Franchise Player(s)

When you don't have ANY of these, you tear it down, then rebuild and build through the draft. Done that.

When you have ALL of these, but can't win consistently, you re-tool it. QUICKLY.

    The sooner, the easier.

and we'd STILL go out in the 1st round. No Thanks! Besides, why would DL hire a coach for his NHL team that he fired from his AHL team?
