    Default Playoffs

Been watching the playoffs. The Penguins have size, skill and a lot of speed. The Leafs speed and size is giving the Caps problems. Oliers with their speed and size and skill is making the Sharks look bad. Nashville is taking it to the Hawks, they're a pretty fast moving team. The model is the Penguins, that is how Blake should retool the Kings. Slow and physical is out of commission.

Problem is, by the time the Kings catch up with THAT model, the new model will be something else. Instead of copying someone else, they need to find something that works for them. And when I say THEM, I mean the players, coach, AND whatever system is in place. When all three ingredients work well together...that is when things become special.

I agree with you on that. The Kings lack the personnel to run Sutter's system to a perfection. When all the pieces were in place though.. Coaching, players, and management, it was a well oiled machine.

Sure looks like St Louis it's playing Kings style hockey and it's working out pretty good for them.

Pens must lead the league in guys 5'11" and under. They are not a big team. Guentzal is 5'11" 185. They are fast and skilled.

And they are running extremely hot and lucky. JAllen something like .975 sv%.

Well if that's the case, Bobrovsky is running extremely cold with .897 sv%, so perhaps the Pens are just lucky too. And let's not even talk about Rinne right now.

Yeah, riding a hot goaltender and a hard hitting defense doesn't sound like 2012 at all.

Well, it seems the Sharks and Hawks are having problems scoring goals. I wonder if Doug Wilson and Stan Bowman will get fired.

Sharks have half their team playing through the type of injuries that make you useless, otherwise they'd most likely be up 3-0 right now. Edmonton is going to be really good, but they're not a great team yet.

Thornton, Pavelski, Couture, Vlasic, and Burns are all pretty much non-factors.
