^^ Now what I've read is that the "deal" for Miller is "off". SMH

Well kids, no outside defensive help will be coming to the Galaxy.

Zlatan and co. are going to have to score 3-4 goals per game to get the points from here on out to counter the defensive lapses.

Gio has got to go.....we can get a FAR better #10 for that kind of dough. The defense held good for a while, then as typical, fell apart and blew coverage(s).

Why Sigi had Ibra playing so much in the mid-field is baffling.
The dude has/will get stripped in the mid-field. He is not that guy. He is the best finisher in the game. Play him where he can score.....and get him some damn service!

With Romain and Gio out, Tuesday presents an interesting group to field.
However, with Gio out that may be addition by subtraction.

Was hoping for six points in 72 hours, now (maybe) four points can be had.

Ugh. I haven't been as angry in a long time as I was Saturday night, because it seemed like the Galaxy were robbed of the result by the officiating even more than they blew it themselves.. In a way, I don't blame Toledo for trusting the Video Assistant Referee Rosendo Mendoza, but I don't think anyone should trust Mendoza ever again. I usually forget to record the matches, so I'm glad I remembered this one. I was more interested in reviewing the penalty not given in stoppage time, but it also turned out that the second Minnesota FC goal was on an offside play.

    Points of elation and frustration:

    • Gio had two great chances close to each other early. He needed to bury one of those.
    • Bingham's shortcomings shone on that first goal. Poor position, poor reflexes. Seeing the replay at home also revealed that Ciani failed to mark his man. Even so, it seemed like he could/should have kept that one out.
    • Minnesota players were playing pretty rough and tumble. Should have been way more yellow cards against them. I don't think it's the job of the referee to try to balance out the match this way.
    • Speaking of which, Zlatan gets the Shaq treatment where he gets constantly fouled, yet the referee seems to let them go because of his size. Clearly, this would haunt them at the end.
    • Alessandrini was right in front of us and signaled for replacement a while before he finally went down. He did not join the preceding Galaxy attack, which was on the other side of the pitch anyway. I wonder who will replace him Tuesday.
    • I thought the defense played much better as a whole, but, then again, Minnesota is not that good.
    • Ibra hits the woodwork. Then again, so did Minnesota, so I suppose that's a wash.
    • I was wondering who got burned on that second Minnesota goal. It was Perry Kitchen. Although it should have been called offside, I thought it was a nice play by Minnesota. Also, I wondered how the Galaxy defenders could let that pass go through. On the replay, though, the only one who might have been able to do something about it was Romney, and it would have been a ridiculous play if he'd been able to prevent it somehow.
    • Oh, yeah, I almost forgot the biggest one. The penalty that should have been given at the end. At the very least, Toledo should have come to the monitor and seen for himself, but he apparently trusted Mendoza just too much. Same thing goes for the second Minnesota goal (but I didn't know about that one until I got home). The worst part is that BOTH of those plays went against the Galaxy, and BOTH should have gone the Galaxy's way.

It's such a pain for me to get to the park on weekdays. It's about 2 hours to go 25 miles, but I'm going to try to get out of work early to get there this time. I need a victory (hopefully) to cleanse the palate.

    VAR in MLS is baffling.

...and I agree the officiating was craptastic, even though I hate to place blame on the officials for a loss.
