Opening preseason game, it wasn’t too horrible I guess.

I missed the red card and the replay. But my initial takeaway: we better enjoy Pavon while he’s still in a Galaxy uniform.

I tried following chicharito away from the ball, he’s real good positionally and quick. Did notice a few times he turned around expecting a midfielder to either be behind him or tracking back and was frustrated at the movement, but not bad. I’m sure he’ll have to adjust. No one can be Robbie Keane right away

Agreed on Pavon...he is Europe bound.

That "red card" ruined the opportunity for the front 3 to get some chemistry going. Too bad, as it would have been nice to see.

DePuy impressive!!! I'm a bit "less" worried about the back line. He looked MLS first team quality.

    Gonzalez is still sub-par.

I believe this club is going to be a blast to watch this season.
I'm excited to see them once everyone gets back and no more injuries.

Many journalist twitter sources from outside of the US are saying the G's will exercise their option to buy Pavon.

After watching Pavón's highlight reel when he first came to the Galaxy, I wondered every game where that guy was. Well, he sure showed up on Saturday! Yeah, I'd like to see a whole season of that, please.

    Good game from Bingham, too.

Bad news about Acosta. I hope he has a complete and speedy recovery.

I finally watched the match highlights, and I can't see where either of the major decisions by the referee were good ones; but there aren't really any good replays of them, either. I'm pretty sure the one that led to the penalty was on a play that started off waaaay offside, but that's not in the replay.

Chicharito is a poacher and I don't say that in a bad way. With Man U he had Rooney, Nani, Mata, and Valencia bombarding him with passes, same in Real Madrid. With Bayer Leverkusen he started to make his own plays but never had the chance with West Ham and Sevilla.

Ref was piss poor. It's a pre-season scrimmage for crying out load! BOTH coaches do not want to play 10 v 11....they want to play in full form.
His dumb call ruined the scrimmage for both clubs.
At best it was a yellow.

This season Pavon and the G's won't have to play Zlatan ball.....The front three are going to be amazing!!! It's going to be a quite different Galaxy.

With this front three, they are going to make it real tough on opposing teams defense, leading to double coverage, which will force opposing teams mid-field to fall back to play defense.
The G's offense will lead to less chances for opposing clubs as they won't be able to press. IMHO.

Indeed. I think he's going to benefit tremendously with Pavon. Dos Santos and Lleget behind him is not too shabby either.

Here's a link the G's put up of Chicharito's touches Saturday:
