Got my Kings swag last week, including my paper tickets! I was expecting a stack of plain box office printed tickets. I was pleasantly surprised to to find bound booklets with the Kings logo on them. Nowhere near as nice as prior ticket books, but better than I expected. Thank you Kings for making the effort! A lot of us old school STHs appreciate it.

It's still too pricey an option (especially since there are still ads printed on them), but I'm happy to continue the tradition of physical tickets and not be forced into using Flash Seats for every game.

I am looking at the hard copy tickets. They are very plain. Could someone please explain to me why the Kings are trying everything they can to push me in to paperless tickets so badly. I understand some people prefer to use their phone. But why are they forcing me to have to use my phone instead of a paper ticket. Very Frustrating.

Very simple: They want your data. Yours, and everyone you will be selling or giving your tickets to.

For the "convenience" of paperless-digital tickets, you in turn become the Kings data mine. Also, you become the data mine for flash seats and everyone else that they would sell or distribute your data to under the terms of service.

But...you ARE paying for the product here?

Also, isn't paperless quicker to process in the arena?

Nope, I've been delayed time and time again when it takes forever to scan or outright refuses to scan the code because the reader isn't setup right, then you have to wait for it to print out a "ticket" that may be out of ink, or out of paper etc.

Just scanning the barcode on a real ticket never seems to have those issues, and you just get scanned and walk in, no waiting for a printout.

I fly Southwest and will always print a ticket so I don't hold up the line behind me. Face up, Face down, 3" away, screen went dark? I always have the back-up on the phone, if ever needed.

On the contrary, you are charged extra for what was the "norm" of paper tickets.
They did not up-charge for flash. It's "included".

    Well, that's lame.

So I guess their excuse is "it's more eco-friendly" or something?
