WAIT! Did Faust do the play by play for the Ducks game?

I never even noticed...because he sounds like all the other hacks. Seriously...Faust and Hazy?

Damn...cookie cutter...shame that a Kings fan didn't even notice he was doing the game....

Personally, I really like Faust. Think he is doing a great job. I was hoping Strangis would get the job but am glad they went with a new, young voice. Glad they went with a more traditional type of caller versus some of these guys that get cheesy........

Hayward was a Actually decent last night. If he was like that all the time he would be a decent announcer.

I said at the start of the season I would reserve judgement on Faust until this year is over. I'll continue to stick to that.

Except for when he claimed Dewy embellished when he drew that penalty late in the 3rd. That was typical Hayward homerism

This is exactly my feelings too. I think Faust is ambitious, and will jump at a NBCSN gig if it's offered.

I think Faust is doing great. Yeah, there are awkward little "trying too hard" moments, but I'm all for an enthusiastic, talented, young guy who's gonna be here a long time and grow into a part of the family.

I know most of us don't like the idea of a "national voice," preferring the unique sound of Bob. But the benefit of it is that Faust is already calling our games on NBC! That means last night we got a knowledgeable Kings broadcast instead of a generic, bland national call. Because he may be a national sounding guy, but he's our national sounding guy, not ****ing Randy Hahn!

When has Dewey ever NOT embellished a penalty?

    The Dewey Pre-game checklist is:
    1) Be awesome.
    2) Embellish penalties
    3) Have a big mouth and even bigger body language while dogging the refs no less than twice a game
    4) Try too hard to be awesome and mess up
    5) Be Super Awesome and win the game/series

... and that's why we love him.

I think Faust is great. Really enjoy listening to him, and I like that he does national games also!

Hayward was 100% correct. That was my immediate reaction when I saw the play - "Dewey sold it." Doesn't mean it wasn't a penalty, it was, but he made sure the ref saw it and it wasn't a particularly good acting job at that. Could have easily picked up an embellishment penalty. Doughty has really taken over from Brown as the top Oscar contender on the team. Not a fan of that aspect of his game, or the constant bellyaching to the refs.
