Default Last time we had 2 explosive rookies?

We have a spoil of talent with Iafallo and kempe, no doubt. If both players continue to grow-- skies the limit. In Iafollo, I can't remember in my lifetime a rookie, stepping up and making the first line better out the gate! I've heard about the early days with Dave Taylor, Simmer and the triple crown line but that was before my time.

As for Kempe, it seems he is a natural goal-scorer and with his speed he can do some real damage in the future. So exciting to see youth demonstrate what they got now. GKG.

    Uh... Toffoli and Pearson?

    King and Nolan?

There was something special about when they came on board.

And the kids are playing well. I really like Iaffalo. But they're rookies, so be excited, but don't get too caught up in their ups and downs.

    Luc Robitaille & Jimmy Carson.

A different, higher-scoring era, to be sure, but their stats were still jaw-dropping in their 86-87 rookie campaigns:

    Luc: 45G, 39A
    Jimmy: 37G, 42A

The crazy thing was, that was also the rookie year for defenseman Steve Duchesne, making for quite the rookie trio.

This team had real potential to go deep once Carter comes back and they can keep rolling all four lines through out the season. No more injuries please...

My thoughts exactly, add in the Torrey Mitchell and Clifford coming back and bodes well for a post season run. if Carter can be back in February or March and gets hot can be big time.

Sidenote- Kempe on pace for 26 goals. Who was the last Kings rookie to break the 25 goal mark? Do we have to go all the way back to Carson/Robitaille or is there someone Im overlooking?

Kempe is showing a lot of compete, and his fight for loose pucks is surprisingly good. He may not bang much but he's plenty crafty.

King and Nolan? You gotta be kidding! No one dropped their jaws with those two lumps. There was optimism, yes... that they could fill the lower lines with quality minutes. But no one saw the kind of potential that we see in Iafallo and Kempe. It's early yet, but I like what I'm seeing here.
