    Default Darcy Kuemper

I know the #2 goalie isn't exactly a hot topic for discussion and I know he's only signed for this season, but what's everyone think about him? He's looked good in straight 5-on-5, but lost a couple of OT games. I remember when he was Minnesota's goalie of the future but his play declined and I guess the Wild lost faith in him when Dubnyk arrived. My read is that he's better than Zatkoff but will play so well that he'll get a better offer somewhere next year.

    He's been great.

Almost every move that Blake has made has been great.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I was just tonight thinking how silly that whole Ben Bishop fiasco continues to look in the rear view mirror. Here's essentially the same player, minus the pedigree and the price tag.

    Kuemper's fine.

Yea, we are in danger of losing Keumper as the kings dangerously inflate goalie stats (ie; Scrivens and Budaj). At this exact moment, our very own Keumper has the NHL's best save percentage and goals-against average--granted it's a small sample size.

The sad reality is goalies are often shafted for their value, except for proven elite tenders, so I don't see a team taking him as a Starter, but rather as a backup with a marginal raise the Kings may or may not be able to match. Hell, we might even lose him at the trade deadline if teams in playoff contention face goalie injury problems and need a steady replacement ASAP and are willing to overpay in draft picks, players etc.

I'm hoping Keumper continues his great play, builds a rapport with the team and decides to take a home team discount instead of jumping ship for more money, but we'll have to wait and see. He does seem happy in La though based on his body language and post game interviews and I think he is experiencing a Renaissance of his career, so he might be content where he's at for a few years.

If the worse happens and he walks, I don't know how Campbell's progressing in the minors but I sure as hell never want to see Zatkoff again. I wouldn't be surprised if Blake takes a look outside of the organization and brings in another good goalie who's hard on his luck and could be had cheap.

Looking ahead, Quick has another five years on his contract, so I suppose Blake will need to bring in some promising, fresh blood in the next 2-3 years and prime him to be ready to take over as our numero uno. My guess, Blake hopes recent collge pickup and draft pick Cal Peterson can fill that void in the future... but who knows Jonathan Quick Leap Frogged Bernier after all.

Especially getting rid of the squid, Nolan, and Laich.
Blake is very good at addition by subtraction.

Right. Part of it is the system played. Ranford I think also deserves a lot of credit.
