What's with all the "who is that?' posts? I thought I was on a website for hardcore Kings fans. He was a late draft pick like 6 or 7th round and he's been in our system for 4 years or so. Keep up.

    Don't get all superior.

I've actually seen him play in person.

Maybe the Kings could get David Gilmour in the deal.

Is it a play on David Gilmour the composer & Doug Gilmour the bastard from '93 leafs? Did David compose a Floyd song with Leslie in the lyrics? Are the Gilmore girls somehow involved? =)

Zach had a decent camp 2 or 3 years ago. Never really progressed from there.

    How timely and original.

Actually, I was expecting VCRW to comment on it.

The speaker in the picture behind Gilmour is a Leslie. They were originally created for organs, but have also been used by a number of guitarists (The Beatles, Terry Kath from Chicago and Gilmour were some of the more visible proponents of the unique sound they produce). The treble (directional horn) speakers at the top were mounted on a rotating platform, and the enclosed bass speaker was aimed downward into a baffle with an aperture which also rotated, but in the opposite direction.

It uses the Doppler effect to acoustically introduce a modulation into the output.

Check out Lennon's vocal in "Tomorrow Never Knows" to get an idea of the effect.

Here is the model in the pic I used:

*tightening the noose around my neck* A sight gag? A mother effing sight gag? *laughing* Amazing. Nice job, great joke and way to elevate it with useful information. For the record: could not find middle C on the piano if my life depended on it.

Maybe later you can explain why every British bass player from the 60's was head-and-shoulders better than everyone else in their band? Honestly I was going to type this in Random Thoughts thread. So..two birds, right?
