Given this, should we give permission to Carolina to talk to Blake and not Futa?

Glad he is sticking around. I agree with the poster above, in that the Kings should require compensation in the form of a draft pick, if the ‘Canes want to hire him as GM, and he is still under contract with us. Tired of seeing all the free lunches the rest of the league has gotten, in the form of well developed goalies and defenders.

He's not going to be around that long. Seattle is going to need a GM soon, for one.

If the Kings miss the playoffs I wonder if dropping Blake could be in the cards. If it comes down to Futa or Blake, I think Futa is irreplaceable.
And thats how you get ants!

Blake has done a great job rebuilding the organizational depth. I can't see him getting fired. Imo, almost every move he has made has been great.

    Signing Iafallo and Cam Peterson
    Drafting Vilardi and JAD
Trading Gabbo and not having to surrender a pick
Dumping Shore and Dowd and giving Amadio a regular roster spot.
Not overpaying on the 70 and 73 contracts
Signing DK35 (I still don't like trading him)
