Default Still think Lucic was worth re-signing?

34 points this year (10g and 24a)...even while playing with McDavid quite a bit.

I'm sure glad that we didn't sign him to to that 7 year $42M contract. Looking more like a Dustin Penner signing.

Should have never been an option to begin with as Dean should've never doubled down on his need for "big bodies" by trading for him.

But I am glad EDM has that contract on the books screwing things up for them. That organization didn't deserve McDavid in the first place.

All I remember was that I wouldn't mind keeping him, but not at 7 yrs/42 million.. that's for sure.

I would have been okay with him taking 3 yrs/12 million but we all know he wouldn't bite on that anyway.

I am surprised that he even has ten goals, lol.

Well, at least he won't have to feel embarrassed for disappearing in the playoffs this year like he did with the Kings, lol.

After watching his disappearance act the last quarter of the season then the playoffs - I'm glad the organization didn't resign him.

The real question is, was he even worth trading for from Boston?
We aren't getting the best laugh from his production. Those Ma$$hOles are.
The good Dean giveth, and the good Dean taketh away.

And traded Jones for another first. And still had Colin Miller.

Edmonton will get lucky and buy him out during a CBA extension, or something.

But Lucic fought Tanner Glass over the weekend. Don't discount that. LOL.

Agreed. I had similar thoughts. Lucic would have produced better results under Sutter's system. Edmonton is a bad fit for Lucic, and Lucic a bad fit for the Oil.
I think Lucic had dreams of winning a Cup in Edmonton....but boy did that thing spin out of control fast.

Lucic on another team other than the Oilers would probably produce better results.

And this is what the next idiot GM will think when he offers the next Lucic a similar contract.
Lucic was a 28yo winger with 700+ games of wear and tear, no speed, and a history of off ice fun. As soon as that contract was signed it was destined to be an albatross. Those guys just do not hang on.
