Who is #19 and was his patricide a prerequisite to play?
    Dude, they're all clones.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Yes... the Kings are ALREADY in trouble.

I would sign Kovalchuk and trade Toffoli for younger/cheaper assets
So you're saying that the Kings should sign Kovalchuk just to keep him away from the rest of the division? Nahhh...

My argument still stands. He's 35 years old and hasn't played in the NHL in 5 years. Signing him wouldn't suddenly make them a contender. With Doughty coming up next year they don't need to play that kind of game with the cap. Besides, if they do try for a UFA, why not Tavares?

Trading TT would be addition by subtraction, his money could be way better used than on his ass

TT is one dimensional and nothing without Carter. Pay someone else that's a self starter.

Just ask Sepp Blatter. Hey, he's banned from FIFA until 2022, but not from the NHL (at least from anything I've seen).

Maybe Beaky can get him on the Kings payroll for cheap.

If he goes, the rebuild should start the next day. At his cap hit, Carter is about as untouchable as it gets unless he suddenly becomes Glass Joe. From there, Blake should be looking at how the Sharks have operated over the last few years with their core group of stars and a rotating cast of young players who match the style they want to play. After 21-22 though, the Kings will likely have to do the full rebuild to return to prominence.

Arthur Staple(one of NYI beat writers), claims the Kings and Leafs as two teams Tavares would like to sign with. If this is true, you gotta throw a solid offer at him and deal with the cap however you have to. Heres what I would do...

Toffoli, Amadio, and our 1st for Montreals 1st(rumored to be shopping the pick. Draft Tkachuk. This move also opens up 4 mil in cap for us.

    CapFriendly.com Armchair-GM User-Generated Roster
    FORWARDS (13)
    Right wing: D. Brown ($5,875,000) - J. Carter ($5,272,727) - T. Lewis ($2,000,000) - N. Thompson ($1,650,000)

Since this looks like a cluster**** Ill post a better looking version...just wanted you to see the cap numbers...

    Tkachuk-Kopitar-Brown

    Kempe-Vilardi-Lewis
    Clifford-Iafallo/Thompson-Brodzinski

    Forbort-Doughty
    Muzzin-Martinez
    Phaneuf-Ladue/Brickley

We still have 2 mil in cap space, not counting if the cap actually went up to 82, rather than 80. We also have a couple of expensive 4th liners in Clifford and Thompson who could be moved for cheaper options. Next season when Doughtys contract kicks in, move Martinez or Phaneuf and insert Clague. That opens up another 4 mil in cap for us to easily fit Doughty.

Sorry, I get way too pumped during the off-season...

Montreal may be shopping their #3 overall pick... but you won't get it for Toffoli, Amadio, and the 20th.

The value of that pick is a star player. If they're moving it, it's in a package for Karlsson or ... Tavares!
