Too much of a PR nightmare, as others have said, especially now in view of the MeToo movement. Kings should trade his rights. New start for everybody.

I had a dream that Russia won their opener 5-0 over S.A.....I think Voynov scored the 5th goal on the free kick in stoppage time.

They discussed this a little on the "Powerplay" on SiriusXM today.

Patrick O'Sullivan called Voynov "a scumbag" and he wouldn't want him anywhere near a team he was involved with. Said he didn't think any GM would want that on his record.

Scott Laughlin said he couldn't imagine any GM trying to explain to the press why he brought in Voynov. He likened the situation to the Ray Rice incident in the NFL. Ray Rice never played in the NFL again after he was booted.

    So, just some outside perspective.

Meh, super political trendy Toronto perspective with Nancy Trudeau looking over their shoulders. Nobody outside of LA gives a **** about the Kings, so if anybody is going to get away with signing him, it's LA. Do it, deal with the 10 minutes of fallout, and win in the long run.

This is from EJ Hradek on Twitter a week or 2 ago:

"Generally speaking, I’ve found that the North American hockey media is much quicker to criticize the European/Russian/Scandinavian player for under performance than the Canadian or American"

I say this extends to beyond just on-ice performance. I don't recall the media calling Patrick Kane a "scumbag" or not wanting him back in the league. Double standard.

A lot of people forgive, this is not about forgiving. He did not make a mistake.

And then trade DD to Tor for Nylander and Timothy Liljegren (plus a conditional pick if Tor resigns DD)
