So, did we just draft Rieder 2.0?

I'm pretty sure Kupari and Lundestrom were who they wanted.

Nothing wrong with Rieder. Looked great with Carter.

I mean at the end of the day if you get a 3rd liner with speed who can pot some goals, it's not a bad pick for #20. But I don't see much hockey sense in Kupari's game, barring there being a significant development there manifesting out of nowhere, I think it's a question of how far his physical tools might carry him.

Like CUP4LA said below, it's like they just listened to what Blake said he wanted instead of going BPA. It sucks though that it really feels like the tier took a dive right before them. Guys like Denisenko and Kaut at 15-16 are real players. As a whole though even taking that into consideration, I'm not a fan.
Looks like Kupari will be in the Dev Camp, so we will get a good look at him

Nope, Craig Johnson 3.0, with Rieder being 2.0...

Kupari has hands and some creativity. You could say even offensive instinct. Problem is I don't think he knows what he is doing on ice to an extent that does not make me comfortable. From tripling up on two of his teammates already working on boards or being glued to puck-watching instead of looking to get to open ice, to passing when he has a clear shooting lane, to shooting or making an individual move when the pass is the right play....I don't see a lot of sense in him. Again, I hope I'm wrong for the sake of Kings and that there's more hockey sense in him that I give him credit for. But this stuff can be seen and broken down on tape, all of the cases I described above I've seen him make myself (I actually have them marked down on video) and it's far from being lone occurrences. Wouldn't be my pick, but even if I disagree with it, I can understand where the Kings are coming from philosophically.

Anyone think Bokk was the pick for skill and scoring, rather than Kupari?

    Outstanding. (/sarcasm)

Well, there seems to be conflicting opinions, which I actually think is a good thing. At least it's not a 'defensively-responsible, big' yadda yadda yadda... pylon for the future 4th line. Bonus that it's a Finn? Break the curse of Aki Berg?
