Apparently, the word on the street is that the Kings have no interest in bringing him back into the fold. He might look good in Montreal...as part of a trade.

Let's hope Poo is right for once.
However, if the Kings are looking to trade his rights, nothing can be negotiated until the league chimes on what sort of suspension/punishment Voynov will/may receive.

Until the league issues it's "disciplinary" action, negotiations for Voynov's rights are really up in the air, because nobody know if and/or when Voynov will play in the NHL.

    what rights??? trade who???

Are you guys forgetting dean TERMINATED his contract. The Kings have no ties whatsoever to Slava. He would come back as a free agent and able sign with any team. LA gets NOTHING in return for this.

    Pssst......
Though the Kings terminated Voynov’s contract, he is listed as being voluntarily retired. They retain his rights, which could be acquired by an NHL team via trade.

we still own his rights thru this next season so if hes playing in the NHL the deal has to be thru the kings

I could say that everyone would like to see Slava Voynov as a hockey player on D2, this will make Kings much better team. But the potential PR disaster which he brings along won't be a good thing for Kings as hockey club.

So most likely his rights will be traded for picks. I recall that there was some info when DL was GM that owners don't want to see Slava playing for Kings and i can see why and can't blame them. So if Voynov will ever play in NHL it won't be for Kings.

On the separate note i always though that Voynov situation caused Dean Lombradi his job. After Voynov got suspended and Richards contract was terminated we saw our team got worse. And if Richards departure had not that drastic affect on the team, Voyonov's suspension really hurt us in a big way. Sekera trade was really bad, Lucic deal was bad, bad Gaborik contract, not allowing to play young players, not changing the style/coach, missing playoffs, scoring problems and much much more. It was just one bad decision after another. If Dean could fulfill that D2 with quality defenseman to stabilize situation maybe we would be in a different situation today. But it is what it is.

Not having quality D2 like Voynov hurt Kings a lot for the past few years, and even today we keep looking for a player who could fulfill that role.

I assuming that you would be okay if all Blake could muster was a fifth round pick, rather than see him hold down a top-4 role on the Kings.

I would give Montreal picks to take on Phaneuf’s contract on top of voinov’s rights
