Watched a full game with Rasmus Kupari for the first time and was very impressed with what I saw! Very creative and calm with the puck, great controll and ability to find open space with the puck!
We have something very interesting here!

David Hrenak (St. Cloud State), G: 12 GP, 10-1-1, 2.22 GAA, .903 SV%
The good: Rasmus Kupari won gold for Finland in the WJC, Anderson won Silver (and was the top scoring defenseman). Markus Phillips, even though Canada didn't medal, was also traded from Owen Sound to Guelph for 6 draft picks.
The bad: Gabriel Vilardi is still injured. No timetable on his return. Wants to focus on his rehabilitation: https://www.thewhig.com/sports/local...uld-have-been; however, the OHL deadline is approaching, and The Mayor is tweeting that it looks like he may be traded to the Ottawa 67's (https://twitter.com/mayorNHL/status/1082436741066158080). The trade deadline in the OHL is January 9th, so we should hear in a day or two. This may not necessarily be bad, but the fact he hasn't played yet sure is.
Also bad, David Hrenak has been solved. His unbeaten record in regulation this season is over.

David Hrenak (St. Cloud State), G: 16 GP, 13-2-1, 2.17 GAA, .905 SV%
The good: Akil Thomas is on a major tear. He's approaching 2 points/game (including 19 points in the past 6 games). Jaret Anderson-Dolan is back in form after injury and the WJC, scoring 1.5 points/game back in the WHL. Aidan Dudas is also leading his team in scoring. Nikolai Prokhorkin is also approaching a point per game in the KHL.
The bad: Vilardi is sitting out the rest of the OHL season to recover. The other European players have either slowed down or been underwhelming.

Is there still hope that Prokhorkin ever plays for the Kings?

The good: Akil Thomas' performance has stayed great, up to the point where he was the co-player of the month for January: http://niagaraicedogs.net/article/jo...s-of-the-month
Sean Durzi, acquired in the Jake Muzzin trade, was named the OHL defenseman of the month: http://ontariohockeyleague.com/artic...r-january-2019
The bad: More injury disappointment. As mentioned before, Vilardi is out for the rest of the OHL season with Kingston (which will end on St. Patrick's Day). Kupari was also injured which precluded him from participating in another European tournament.
