    Default The Spin is UNREAL

Listening to Fox during the Winnipeg game, O'Neal during the intermission, and reading Insider today, it's downright insulting.

    It really is.

The INSIDER should be renamed the spinner or smoke blower.

One thing that was refreshing about Sutter was that he assessed things very honestly. Especially during the championship years, he was not one for excuses.

Daryl Evans isn't afraid, and he was really laying into them about the teams terrible decisions and play.

This is like your father hitting you with the belt and telling you that it's gonna hurt him more that it's going to hurt you.

    Nope. Notgonnabuyit.

Then again, maybe it wasn't a spin and my father had shoulder arthritis or an old war injury that made it hurt more to swing a belt than take a beating.

Last year it was because Carter was out. blah blah

This year it's Brown, Quick.....blah blah

However it's the exact same style of play/tactics that have been going on for season after losing season after losing season.
    Coaching and system anyone?!?!?!

Nope, what this team needs is scoring, so lets go get us a 36 year old who hasn't played in the league for years.
    That should solve the problem.

How about running 4 lines that can contribute.
Nope, we got Lewis and Clifford....those guys are Cup winners.
    They are line 3/4 gold!!!!!

Everything is great! Enjoy the beach chairs, goofy caps, and plastic wallets!!
...and remember to sell you tickets on AXS and NOT stubhub!

*sad face* Sorry that happened to you Orphy.

Have you read any Charles Bukowski? Not the short stories or poems but the novels? "Ham on Rye", is his "origin" story, if you will; his dad was a total bastard so it may trigger you but still might be worth a read.

To be fair, Chucky has been one of the bright spots relatively speaking.

The bottom 6 continues to be hot garbage.

I think Mondo summed things up nicely when he asked what other teams still have 11 roster players from 5 years ago. That's not a core, it's a fraternity or old boys club.

This organization has been insulting it's fans for going on three years now. This is nothing new. It's just old, stale, tired, and boring. I'm not the only fan that doesn't even bother going to games any longer. And Kings hockey is no longer must see TV for me. I check the box score and expect the worst.

Yea, but Kovy was NOT what the team needed. He may have time where he is fun to watch.
Heck I even said he would be a boss on the PP and that it would improve....silly me.

However, getting a 36 year old for a 3 year contract is not going to help the team make its way toward being a contender again.
It prolongs that journey to becoming a contender.

The club needed to go out and get a new coach and system that works in the present NHL, then dump the garbage that occupies the bottom six.
Play the kids, and trade some vets for new blood, and BREAK-UP the rotten core.

They will eventually do this, but until then, Luc is trying to fill-up Uncle Phill's pockets with as much $$ for as long as he can squeeze the idea to uninformed fans that the Kings are still only a player or two and a tweak away from greatness.

Agreed, take a look at Anaheim. Their kids are doing great.
