Default Give Brown back the “C”

He had some bad years but so has everyone else on this team. He has more heart than everyone else on this team does.
He’s a hundred times the leader Drew is and plays with more heart than Kopi.

This isn't hot potato. Just leave it as is. Brown is just fired up from watching the Kings lose while he was away. He's fresh and hasn't been a part of that locker room of toxic losing. Good for him, but he will be back to normal human Brown soon. Plus LA just won a game against a last place team...who cares?

If it were really about the letter, I'd agree with you. But as it stands, the team needs veteran leadership from guys who don't have the C, and if Brown can grow into that equally important role, then that could go a long way. He definitely flexed his captain muscle on that defensive zone play.

Being the Captain isn't about scoring the most points. It's about communication off the ice, in the dressing room and on the ice. It's about doing what needs to be done to motivate the best out of the players on the team. Sometimes an ass chewing is needed and some times you go out on the ice and start delivering big hits and showing a lot of hustle on the ice that pumps the team up. Brown has that in him. I don't see that emotion in Kopitar.

Everyone was on the Trade Brown train, now we're really discussing Brown being the savior of the Kings after one game against a terrible east coast team? How things change.

Brown had a great first game coming back to a team with no direction against a team with the same issues. One game does not a captain make. Haven’t we been here before? Many here wanted his C ripped off his chest in public. Maybe the fact of the matter is there are NO leaders on this team! Williams... Mitchell.... Greene are still being missed. Williams still showing it but not here.

We need a better leadership core for sure, but leave Brown alone. We need new blood for leadership on this team though.

I still want to trade Brown. I hope he has a good season to where maybe a team will want him. This team needs to start dumping the old core and their contracts. If they can trade Quick, Brown and Carter this year, that would rock. Also, Brown doesn't deserve the C back.

Good leader leads no matter what, and does not need the letter on his jersey.
