Default Dan Beckerman: Is he the REAL problem?

    For your consideration:

Two AEG owned teams in L.A.: Kings and Galaxy. Both coming off the highest of highs: Two Stanley Cups, 5 MLS Cups.
Since 2014 both teams on bad slides.....accelerating in the past couple of seasons for both teams.

Both teams recently have had front office turn-overs and coaching turn-overs.
Both teams currently in a state of disarray in terms of front office staff, coaching, and players.

History: Tim Leiweke leaves AEG in 2012. Dan Beckerman takes his place.

Under Tim Leiweke, both franchises see their greatest achievements.
These achievements continue for both franchises until 2014, then comes the slide.
One could argue that the 2104 championships would have been achieved under any CEO, because the pieces were already in place from years ago.

Under Beckerman, Chris Klein becomes president of Galaxy in 2013. Not too long after the Galaxy become a train wreck of front office disasters and coaching roulette.
Under Beckerman, Sutter and Lombardi are held on to for too long, and then both fired, and replaced with Luc Robitaille and Rob Blake in the front office, continuing the accelerating of the train wreck that is the Los Angeles Kings.

So looking from 2014 to the present and then beyond, has Dan Beckerman's leadership (or lack thereof) caused calamity for both franchises?
Love / Hate for Tim Leiweke as it is, consider his record running the franchises versus Dan Beckerman.

I'll hang up now, and take your comments off the air.

You realize that Lieweke is the one that wanted Kovalchuk, and lost that power struggle with Lombardi leading to his departure, right?

If the Kings signed Kovalchuk like Lieweke insisted, we would still be Cupless in Los Angeles.

    ftfy!
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

You are implying that Tim left AEG over Deano and the Kings?!?!?! Absurd. The story is a myth.
Tim left when Uncle Phil pulled the plug on the sale of AEG. That and the wreck that was the LA stadium NFL deal failure.

Tim hired Deano. He hired the right guy who brought the Kings the Cup.
Splitting hairs about a Kovalchuk myth is nonsense in the grand scheme of things.

Truth be told it was Tim's decisions that brought about the Kings Dynasty. He put the right piece(s) in place.
Dan Beckerman? Tell me exactly what he has done right.
