The Space Needle and the Arena are Seattle’s revered historical landmarks from the 1962 World’s Fair. The roof with its cross structure has been designated as an iconic design and cannot be altered. Instead, construction crews are digging down to add seats and private boxes as they did in Oakland when Oracle Arena was renovated and enlarged.

My throw away Phish joke has taken on a life of its own, so i'll add:

I have heard the urban legend told several times, then years later the truth about Phish covering "The White Album" by the Beatles. The way I heard the urban legend was that one of the band member was goofing around in concert started to play the intro to first song "Back in the USSR" on the White Album, the rest of the band joined in, jammed it out and the crowd lost their minds. So they decided to played the next song from that record and the next until it they just said eff it lets just play them all! Now known as the "white tapes" by Phish. Which had to be an freakishly awesome shared experience. And, understood why it was retold years after the fact.

The truth: Phish covers one album each tour, that year it happened to be the White album. (BOOOOO)

I like the urban legend story more because of the poetic spontaneity of it all.

Some of you peeps really need to get over grunge and the '90's.

This is coming from someone who still quotes The Crash Test Dummies' "Mmm Mmm Mmm."

Will existing NHL teams only get to protect 7.5 players this time?
The timing will be fine for the Kings, though, right?

With how the things are going, we can be fairly certain this year will be the year of denial and possibly even the next one, too. So, the actual full-on rebuild happens in 19-20 or 20-21, and the Kings will have little to no trouble exposing the deadwood at the time for exp. draft. All the management has to do until then is NOT TO GIVE OUT MORE NMCs. I mean, if they **** THIS up by giving more NMCs before the exp. draft they need to be collectively skinned and stuffed as voodoo dolls for their souls in hell.

At the time of exp. draft, they could then easily expose a player like Kopitar or Doughty, thus getting rid of one albatross contract. A player with pedigree for Seattle to add to the initial fan excitement. Unless they will want to pull the VGK, in which case the Kings will probably lose some mediocre young player who will then play very well for them.

Either way, not a huge loss for Kings and stacked teams will lose the most, thus evening the playing field a little tiny bit. Definitely a bonus and good timing if you ask me.
