Christ, Suspiria and the Favourite were shining beacons in a year of junk.

I feel like I spent this year catching up on old stuff. I just looked at releases for 2018 and on the list the only ones I saw are the new Strangers, Disobedience and Teen Titans Go To the Movies. On Netflix tho, I watched Haunting of Hill House at least three times, Love season 3, Kindergarten Teacher, The Package. I watched the stupid Avengers movie but I wouldn't put it on any "best of" list. I'll get to Deadpool 2 and Venom eventually. So I guess the best movie I watched released in 2018 was Disobedience. Musicwise, I discovered Zeal & Ardor this year and that's about it.

I have a hard time doing top lists because I don't listen to a lot of new music or watch a lot of new movies, haha. But by George, if I don't read a lot of books.

Top Books I Read in 2018

    1. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut

    2. If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin

    3. Confessions by Kanae Minato

    4. The Terror by Dan Simmons

    5. Circe by Madeline Miller

    6. Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami

    7. Howards End by E.M. Forster

    8. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontė

The dolphin taking liberties, respect. That book by Baldwin may be one of my “desert island” choices, glad it made an impression on you. Afraid to see the movie because of the unconformable weeping in public but moreover, what if their love is not captured the way Baldwin intended. Also, the reviews were more about the soundtrack being awesome than the movie. =(

    For you:

There is something very "90's" about this book in the best possible way. It also might be another one of my "desert island" reads. If you read it, I hope you like it.
