    Agree except bolded:
I think it's ok to take a bad contract for next year as well. Nothing beyond that. Nathan Horton for example.
Look how Toronto dumped the phaneuf contract. Immediate cap crunch for long term savings or assets.

The Kings roster is like a late stage game of Tetris. What they really need is a long skinny piece but all we keep getting are Kyle Clifford and Nate Thompson shaped blocks.

On HNIC Insiders Report tonight they were speculating that Muzz might be a Toronto target. But I love Kypreos saying he is only a “4, 5, or 6.” Yeah Nick continue to talk players down so the Leafs don’t pay a fair price ...

I wanted him gone! But now he's finally playing the way he can. And yes we would be worse without him as he has been our best D-man this year. But this is time to trade him. stockpile assets for him, Quick, Carter, Toffoli, and really anyone else. build for the future now before their value drops even more.

    Except :
1, Muzzin has another year, rather then is a rental.
    2. The contract is below market value for his skill set.

I continue to think the Kings can get a ransom if they retain half.

That would only have considerable value to a team at the cap and looking for a lefty D man, so one or two teams, maybe. He's only got a year left after this season and the contract is not a lot to begin with. $2M vs $4M is not a huge difference.

I hear ya with the left D vs right D. But salary space is key. For the Kings, who cares about 2M. We need to blow up this tire fire. But let's look at somebody like Winnipeg who wants to keep the window open. Look how much the Kings gave up to Boston for Lucic (with millions retained). I think cap space is worth a lot to a team which is all in.

BTW, Winnipeg would be a good trading partner since most of their talent is on RD. Try to get Kristian Vesalainen or Dylan Samberg, so that we could have a UMD pairing with Mikey Anderson.

1st is likely to be a fairly late one unless it's the Sens' pick that the Avalanche own. And they could definitely use Muzzin. Could the Kings have two top 5 picks this year?

I mean, that Ott pick is worth more than the Kings have to give them.

Well unless they want to swap their firsts? It would be black hole insurance for us

This break will be interesting...maybe we saw a couple Kings play their last game on Monday. Let's see if Rob pulls the trigger on Muzz or anyone else.
