Default This league is officially garbage

I had refs in Garden Grove that were better than this. How do you miss a blatant hand pass right in front of the net? That's literally where at least three officials should be looking. This is like watching professional wrestling at this point.

Well, I had refs that were worse than this, too*. But they weren't reffing a conference final in the NHL.

*He actually wasn't that bad, but I once remember Robert Cruz telling me between periods that I had been really close to being offside a bunch of times during the game. No kidding! That's what I was trying to do!

Question is whether these refs get their names on the Cup automatically, or whether the Sharks will have to petition the league.

Until now, my rooting interest in these playoffs was pretty muted. Sure, would have been great if CBJ had gone all the way, but whatever. Now, anyone but the Sharks. THey've been on the right (lucky) side of controversial calls in all three rounds. Meanwhile, the Bruins were screwed on a call when the puck went out of play (like the Kings in 2014 against Detroit), but they responded and moved on. If they (Boston) lift the Cup, I can live with that, but not the Sharks after tonight's BS.

The reffing has been incredibly bad this year. As in, 'is this rigged like the NBA playoffs' bad. It must be nice to have games gifted to you in 3 straight series, especially with the NHL being such a parity league right now. I do not like Boston at all but I think they'd be a more deserving team than the Sharks.

Random Bruins thought: Assuming the transitive property of hockey, just how badly would the Bruins have destroyed the Penguins? Penguins swept by Isles who were swept by Hurricanes who are about to get swept by Bruins. Would they have been 20-0 defeats?

So here's my novel thought on this one. Refs should be allowed to question the players involved about the play. Everyone knows this **** is on video. Embarrass the ref and the league and its suspension time and organization fine. How bout the league tries to remove the "if you ain't cheating you ain't trying" angle. It wouldn't have resolved the pavelski hit, but this one or the Ryan Clowe from the bench play would be subject to supplemental for sure. Granted it would be a different can of worms but at least it would be a can with bigger intentions.

All this hoopla around the interweb but no one mentions the missed delay of game call in the 2nd period.

I'm sure people in Toronto would.

I was at the game in Detroit a few years back when the Red Wings' point shot got tipped HIGH up into the netting and came down onto Quick's back and into the net.
Everyone in the arena, save for the four zebras, saw exactly what happened.
It was a good goal because they didn't see it.
It's always been kinda garbage, I guess, is my point.
