Why.....his wife forgave him, the judge forgave him so why can't the Kings let go.

He's going to be 30, hasn't played NHL hockey in five years, the team is rebuilding and already has assets they are grooming in his spot, he cost them a first round pick and quality prospect when they tried to replace him, and he committed a morally reprehensible act that started at a team function and ended up in the ER and police station.

    That's why.

We don't agree often, but we do in this case. Whether they intended to sign him or not, they devalued an asset by saying they don't want him. Brutally stupid on the part of the organization.

Some team should take a chance on Voynov. Yeah, what he did was heinous but he payed every price, jail time, suspension, banishment. He did his time.
But I agree it can't be with the Kings. No team in their right mind would bring back a player that would divide and fracture their fan base. Which is why Kaepernick doesn't have an NFL job.

I think a press conference and mandatory therapy on the team's part would have mitigated any impact, but that would take guts and tact, neither of which the organization exudes.

I do think they'll get a 3rd round pick or better for him. Maybe you bundle him with Phaneuf for cap relief. A struggling defense would get a lot better without losing an asset.

not justifying what he did but everybody messes up. Even people on this chat board. I guess there is no second chance nor forgiveness if people mess up.

Thanks, I guess? What a weird way, passive aggresive to tell someone you agree.

LOL, It was intended to be an olive branch for any perceived prior belligerence on my part. Apparently it was a clumsy one.

If Voynov does end up with another team and does relatively well, I am sure more Voynov threads will pop up.

I am afraid that peeps will be discussing this in the retirement home. I'll be there too if my pickled liver holds up, lol.
