That's not what was implied but feel free to rage against the machine...

When I go on business travel, I get a room by the office rather than stay in a city an hour away.

I always thought the arrangement was stupid and I still do. It seems more convenient for Blake, Stoll, Ranford, Imoo (while still here) than the team. I also didn't see what it did at all for Ontario and feeling like they had a team there rather than a group of guys who bussed in a couple times a week.

At least they're not commuting from the South Bay to Lowell, Ma.

    From the OP's first post.......
Are the Ontario players having to COMMUTE from south bay to their "home" games in Ontario?

If this is true, that's a problem, and may have contributed to Ontario having the worst record in the AHL last season.

Isn't there a decent building in Long Beach or someplace nearer there where the team could play?

They could be the Long Beach Tsunamis.
    Or somp'n.

This commute doesn't seem so bad. Taking a team coach bus from South Bay to Ontario might take an hour or two, but it's not like the players are driving their beaters in stop-and-go traffic.

It’s a bit dumpy, but Riverside has two sheets of ice and it’s probably 30 minutes to the arena in the carpool lane. If ice was the issue ( and I don’t think it was) that’s an easy solution.

FWIW: el segundo to Ontario can easily be a 2+ hour drive.
