A bit of a brawl between Calgary and Arizona last night near the end of the second period, and of course, Matthew Tkachuk was involved. Now having said that, he was jumped from behind by Darcy Kuemper, but only after he delivered something of a mild crosscheck to an Arizona player who was face down on the ice. The only thing that I didn't particularly like about this is that you had a situation in which a single linesman, in trying to keep Tkachuk and Kuemper apart, hampered one player more the other.
Out of all that, Tkachuk and Kuemper each got double minors for roughing, Jason Demers got a minor for roughing, David Rittich got a minor for leaving his crease, and Johnny Goudreau got a minor for cross-checking. Arizona did not score on the subsequent power play.
On a side note, upon reading an article about this game, I saw that Calgary's TJ Brodie missed his first game after a practice incident in which he collapsed on the ice and started convulsing. He was released from the hospital and is resting at home. That's scary.
