I gave up on the Kings getting rid of Quick. It is kinda pointless until the Kings are actually competitive again and strapped for cap space. Let Cal have some competition and mentorship instead.

I think this is true, but you wouldn't know it by last night. He was very shaky... dropping lots of pucks, had some trouble covering pucks... he played nervous. But I do think this will go away.

This. No point in getting rid of Quick now and letting Cal get lit up and hung out to dry night after night. It would just ruin his confidence. Work him into rotation slowly while you rebuild your team.
