That's Todd for you. This team will continue to be stifled under Todd and Blake. It's so sad to see it happening. What did Todd do to earn a spot as a coach of a young team? What exactly did he do with Edmonton that had a young team full of Number overall picks? Oh yah that's right, Todd coached Blake, so homies need to give other homies jobs now and sacrifice the franchise. I'm glad selfish guys like Luc and Blake ran Lombardi out of town, thinking they could run a championship team after Lombardi did all the hard work. Morons I tell you.

Jens Karlsson? Dave Steckel? Matt Zultek? Colten Teubert? Lauri Tukonen? These are all Kings 1st round picks. I haven't even touched 2nd round flops yet.
Speaking of former second round picks, Jared Aulin is still playing. He has 43 points in 45 games for the Manchester Storm of the EIHL (UK league).

Yeah, totally Rob's fault those didn't pan out. LOL. Also Todd for not giving them a chance!

Hahahahah man, you're a hoot. Go ahead and make a list of the past 2 decades of NHL GMs and their draft records...make a list of the most successful ones and we'll see which ones are (or were, at the point of Blake's hire) available, and we'll send the names to the Kings ownership.

Dean's misjudgement became Blake's problem. We all saw ample evidence that Lombardi often mishandled his #1 picks.

But Forbort played himself into only being worth a 4th rounder.

DL ran himself out of town by painting himself into a corner with bad trades and contracts. If he could maintain a roster as well as he built them, he would still have a job, but his massive failure was that he was not willing to thank players for their service and let them walk or trade them at their highest value, but rather reward them at the expense of the future, and fail to see that the roster at some point went from Championship caliber to first round caliber and needed to get re-tooled. And either because he did not recognize it or had no options went all in with no hand and got himself fired, there was nothing else that could have been done.

Exactamundo! To quote a 70's icon...

DL got us to the promised land with vision, but like a lot of businesses, Short term return is the simplest of financial numbers, but the long term always introduces variables, which DL knew, and didn't give a ***** about because he did the job he was brought in to do.

All-in-all, Blake is building the future of this team, a ton of young talent is in the barn, and how else would/could he do it, really? This definitely ain't the mid-nineties Kings *****-show, as this does have vision, and it is following what I heard Blake lay out last year to a T!

You're missing the point. You are all exciting about trading for 2nd round and 3rd round picks when the chances of those picks ever wearing a Kings jersey are SLIM! Like super slim. Think about it we just traded a first round pick (Forbort) for, actually nothing...a conditional 3rd round pick or 4th, can't even remember. So we basically threw away another 1st round defensemen away. Add Hickey, Forbort and Teubert to the list. So why are we throwing away NHL defensemen for NOTHING? Like Martinez is rare, as is Forbort. It's hard to draft a good defensemen, as you can see. I'm saying we shouldn't be trading guys like Forbort and Martinez. Those are hard to fill positions. We have nothing in the cupboard to fill these positions. It's 2 steps backwards...and then 2 more steps backwards. There is NO PLAN with Rob Blake...Collecting Picks is not a plan. With Dean at least he had a plan to build from the net out, which is super hard to do, but once he did it, he could fill those forward positions easily, through draft, UFA, trade, development, because forwards are everywhere. He also hired a coach with a plan. Todd doesn't have any idea what to do, might be a great guy, might say the right things, but never does the right things. He always talks up a big game how he's going to hold vets accountable, but he just puts the squeeze on the young guys. He's a lifetime loser as a coach. The sooner people realize it the better. But this is Blakes team and Todd is Blakes friend. Friends don't equal championships...skill does.
