This "system" has been designed to do this. This way, there is more drama for a Phase 2 draft after Round 1.

There is ZERO chance that all top 3 draft spots will go exclusively to the 7 teams who deserve the top 3 spots.

I know. You don't get it. The process is confusing AF. Bettman explains it like a used-car salesman, it's the same as buying a used-car.

    A joke of a league.
oh Greg, so close, so close.

But close enough to confirm what a F joke the NHL is

I would have been okay to scrap the lottery altogether and just give #1 to Detroit and so on, considering the circumstances

    What a gimmicky bush league

More players are testing positive and hub cities are still not determined.

For the love of God just get over it, cancel the season already. Big deal, **** happens, they'll be a Asterix on the 2019 -2020 Season and it's understandable.

Just start the season as normal in October, move on and stop beating a dead horse Bettman! it's not worth putting the players coaches and personnel at risk to salvage an already gutted season.

Even if the kings were number one in the NHL right now,I really wouldn't care because the integrity and spirit of the season has already been soiled because of the momentum loss and context of this terrible outbreak. At the end of the day life is more important than hockey and they'll be another day for future entertainment.

Overall, I agree. However, the way things are going with Covid, I'm not sure a season could even start in OCtober, at least not with fans.

The league needs to go to the cities with the most strict standards. But the pessimist in me says they'll go to the ones that are more lax. I hope I'm wrong. Anyway, I'm still glad the Kings aren't taking part in this experiment.

There are going to be some positive tests no matter what they do. The same is true for the other sports. That's just how widespread this virus is. All you can do is separate and isolate the positive guys as quickly as possible.
