If the stands are going to be empty I'd rather see the games played in Major Junior and D1 Rinks. The camera angles and acoustics of a smaller place would sound better on tv.

Put on your tin foil hat from post above. Hockey broadcasts just fine from any size arena.

My biggest complaint (at times) is Fox Sports pumps up the arena volume waaaaay too much it makes it difficult to hear the actual game sounds.

An empty arena is a massive echo chamber. The game noise will be over the top without the crowd. The Bundesliga figured this out after the first weekend of matches. Kicking the ball sounded like a cannon. Pumping in artificial crowd noise into the broadcast at a lower level for the second weekend of matches REALLY helped the broadcasts.

If only. No way do I have the goods to go pro. All I'm seeing are the glaring omissions. Where is the all caps "follow the money"; where is the order from Trudeau to Bettman not to give a "drop dead" date to keep 97% of Canadian sports journalist employed; where is the link to the online petition to name the next hurricane Jody Shelley* ?

Let's face it the skill set is there but the effort is lacking. Guess I'm stuck here with you jokers. =)

If no crowd play the games at Great Park Ice in arena four. Great place to play small venue!

Is the lottery complicated though? It's still the top 3 picks among the bottom 15 teams. The only difference is because of the expanded playoffs we don't know who 8 of those teams are. Which is why there's a 2nd lottery when the 1st round ends. And if the 3 picks are all won by non-playoff teams then that 2nd lottery won't be necessary, Maybe you could say it's complicated in the sense that they could've just made those 7 non-playoff teams eligible for these picks. To me it's not complicated, just wrong. These bottom teams might have had the chance to make the playoffs but now won't. The least they could get is a chance at a top 3 pick without it being stolen by a team that did get a playoff spot. I know it's not going to be the Stanley Cup winner who gets a 1st overall pick but it's still potentially unfair.
