Marty is my all time favorite player. Just way too many great memories of him to zero in on any one particular memory. Imo,if it weren't for Marty and his running interference, Gretz would never have gotten alll the points that he did.

Regarding that illegal stick call on Marty in that playoff game. Some years later, before a playoff game, Luc and Pat LaFontain were being interviewed and of course, the subject came up regarding that call on Marty some years back. Luc chuckled and remarked that at the time of that call, you could hear sticks being broken over on the Habs bench. (illegal sticks weren't that unusual back then) For years I've hated that damned Habs coach. He needed Marty off the ice and used that stupid call to do it.

Can't believe I missed this one.

So, I was a full-time student while I working at Jerry's Deli in Marina Del Rey at night. sometimes graveyard, mom and didn't pay for my education (: It was during the 93 playoff run. Donnelly, Rychel and Millen use to come in late after games all the time. After game 4 at the Forum, Marty came in with those guys. I couldn't help it, I said, "Hey Marty, bring the cup to LA!", as he was leaving. He just smiled and said, "We will!". 1) I never realized what a monster jaw Marty had 2) He lied to me...

But it's still my favorite Marty memory.

Stone: neat story, but was that game four of the SCF? The Kings lost that in OT to go down in the series, 3-1.

Ah. Makes more sense, although the Kings lost that one too (which evened the series at 2).
