    Time for a buyout.

I realize guys like Grundstrom, Luff and Moore aren't superstars.
But Carter ain't either these days. Not by a longshot.

I'd rather buy him out and at least be able to give those new guys more icetime, and a chance
to play with HUNGER and prove themselves.

If Kings were to buy out Carter, I'd be rather surprised if ANY other NHL team
was even interested in signing him.

Also, I'd give Quick 1 more season, and if he doesn't sharpen-up his game,
    I'd buy-out him too.

Not trying to be Attila The Hun, here.
    Just bein' realistic, IMO.

    But worry not.

I don’t understand why the Kings can’t give Luff, Moore and Grundstrom plenty of ice time even if they keep Carter. When I look at this team, I see plenty of line-up spots and ice time to go around.

Look, if keeping Carter were going to interfere with the development of a young player, I would be 100% on board with a buyout. I just don’t see a scenario like that with Carter. (Maybe Quick in a season or two, and I only mean MAYBE) Carter may be able to do the same role for the Kings that DL had for his “bridge players” in the late 2000’s. Keep him on the roster until a kid proves he is ready to take his spot. In my opinion, that will most likely take his contract to its completion.

I think a buyout would be a waste of cap space and in the years when the Kings may want it. We could end up regretting that buyout when Villardi is at the end of his elf.

No need for a buyout, by the time they play again he will be so fresh and so willing to score 30 goals.

If he's healthy enough to play Carter belongs on the ice. Absolutely no reason to buy him out. Let him hit score his 400th goal and ride off into the Newport sunset.
