    Default Blake safe for now?

For what it is worth, spoke to some of my Kings contacts...

Looks like the pandemic has saved Blake's job for now. AEG is in economy mode and that also helped his cause. Apparently there are rumors of Hextall coming in should the axe fall. Not sure if they talked to Ron, but he was clearly on the radar.

Also, the Kings are deciding btw Stutzle or Byfield. Not in that order necessarily.

    So there you go...

Between Covid and when Futa was let go last month, I figured Blake was safe for the time being

I still question how much autonomy he really has anyway.

It just seems like it's really more of Luc's show, and maybe it doesn't matter so much who the GM is in this organization

    He's safe from being fired.

But is he safe from being booed?

Given the number of prospects and the direction the team is moving why the hell would they fire Blake now? If this happens you can bet this "rebuild" will be seriously derailed.

You have to stick with the upper management as long as possible otherwise you end up being....EDM or BUF....the Kings ownership isn't that stupid. Are they?

    Is Bailey's job in danger?

IMO, he's off his game lately.

Yes he is. Why wouldn't he be? He didn't take bets that any other GM would, he didn't clean house the way Sakic did, he didn't play the game, he hasn't made great trades, he hasn't paid respects to Yanetti, he didn't give Stevens a chance out of respect...

Kings are still cleaning up the mess for another year. Draft and develop 2 more drafts.

After that it will come the crucial job of evaluating the talent and putting together the right mix of players to actually win. That's when Blake could be in trouble.
