They beat the Dodgers 2 of 3 in Monterrey.

    Still won't happen this year.

Padres beat the Giants... Giants beat the Dodgers... Dodgers beat the Padres. Always why the West is so messed up but I do like when the Padres beat the Dodgers!

Greatest thread of all time! 11 years and counting!

With this kind of coin being tossed around for this kind of player, by a team like this..............combine that when the new television broadcast contracts come up for renewal years down the road......I see MLB headed for contraction.

I've actually been to a Padres game...............when the played the Dodgers. Very cool experience with pals who live in SD but are Dodger Fans. Great stadium and plenty cool places to have a brew or buy one and go back to your seat. And they had all sorts of great brews.

But 75% of the fans were in Dodger gear, including me.

Here is the problem of the Padres: they do not have the money that bigger teams have. So if they get a great player, he is gone in a couple of years. Why? SD cannot pay what other teams can pay. This happens over and over again.

Same experiences here. I think the big question is if the Padres build a contender will their fans show up? And let's say Petco sells 90% of their seats for a season, will it be enough to stay competitive with other big pocket teams?

Harper going to the Philllies is obviously a sign it's not the dodgers year right?

Padres to swoop in and shock the world? oh doctor, you can hang a star on that baby.
